Description
If you’re looking for a FUN way to review author’s purpose, this is it! This print-and-go game (digital version included) is a great way to assess or practice author’s purpose at any time of the year. Even better, it comes with 5 different texts! The games can be played with a partner, or in small groups!
This author’s purpose game includes:
-
all game pieces
-
5 different texts
-
directions page for students
-
answer keys
-
link to the digital version
In this game, students cut apart and lay out parts of 5 different texts. Then, they cut and glue together an “author’s purpose dice” with sides labeled: inform, entertain, and persuade. A player rolls the dice and chooses a part of the text that they believe fits the purpose they rolled. The first player to build an entire story and identify the author’s purpose, wins! Answer keys are included.
Other than printing the game supplies, there is no other prep for the teacher. This makes for a great center activity, or a stand-alone game!
Teachers are always looking for fun and simple, so here you go! Enjoy!
