Description

Need a fun way to practice different types of figurative language? This BINGO game is super fun and easy to play! It covers many different types of figurative language all in one engaging review!

Types of figurative language it includes:

  • similes
  • metaphors
  • alliteration
  • personification
  • onomatopoeia
  • hyperboles
  • idioms

Simply print out the BINGO boards (color and black and white versions available). There are 8 different boards so there will be multiple students with the same board, but that’s okay for this game!

The game also includes 6 different cue cards for each type of figurative language mentioned above. That’s 42 calling cards to mix up and play with!

To play: simply give each student a board and call out one card at a time. Students analyze the card that was read and identify the type of figurative language that was called. When they get 5 in a row, they must pick 5 cards from the pile to identify correctly to win. 🙂
