Description

Are you tapped out of ideas on how to teach theme to your students? Make it fun, easy, and interactive with this WEEK long set of activities (print and digital included)! This resource includes 5 days worth of lesson plans and activities, graphic organizer, craftivity, centers & more! Take a look at the preview for more details!

Digital components can be used in Google Classroom, Google Slides, and PowerPoint.

Lesson 1: Students are becoming exposed to the vocabulary and terminology that corresponds with theme. Students are matching theme vocabulary words to their definitions as well as illustrating what the ‘theme’ words mean to them!

Lesson 2: Students analyze pieces of evidence for theme without the entire text and match the evidence to the theme it supports.

Lesson 3: Students evaluate already a text that already has evidence underlined and has the theme identified for the students. Students evaluate the work that has been done and sort the stories to whether or not they agree or disagree.

Lesson 4: Students use crayons and color code stories based on the theme of the text as well as justify their answers in writing.

Lesson 5: Students get to apply their knowledge of theme by reading a short text and creating a theme folding page that allows them to write about evidence, connections, and illustrate the theme/story all in one final activity.

All activity are more hands on than normal ‘worksheets’. Direction pages and real photographs are also included! A graphic organizer, bookmark, anchor chart, craftivity, & center are all also included!
