Lesson 1: Students are becoming exposed to the vocabulary of the nonfiction text features. Text feature posters are included! Students will create an ‘iPad’ themed visual matching text features to their names!
Lesson 2: Students analyze nonfiction texts and color code the text features they find using the color-coding key. 5 different nonfiction texts are included!
Lesson 3: Students evaluate the text given in a nonfiction text and decide which text feature should go in the text! They are given a variety of choices and must decide based on what information is presented in the text.
Lesson 4: Students will create an interactive flip resource where they read short texts and write facts from the text or from the text feature.
Lesson 5: Students get to apply their knowledge of nonfiction text features by writing and creating their own nonfiction text! There are four different templates included as well as suggestions on text features that students can create in their articles.
All activities are more hands on than normal ‘worksheets’. Direction pages and real photographs are also included! A graphic organizer, bookmark, anchor chart, craftivity, & center are all also included!
Digital activities included are made for Google Classroom, Google Slides, and PowerPoint.
