Description
Are you tapped out of ideas on how to teach plot to your students? Make it fun, easy, and interactive with this WEEK long set of activities (print and digital included)! This resource includes 5 days worth of lesson plans and activities, graphic organizer, craftivity, centers & more! Take a look at the preview for more details!
Digital lessons can be used in Google Classroom, Google Slides, and PowerPoint.
Lesson 1: Students are becoming exposed to the vocabulary and terminology that corresponds with plot. Students are taking familiar traditional literature stories and organizing the events based on when they happen. A whole group and small group lesson are both included!
Lesson 2: Students analyze a text and determine which events in the text would be important enough to create the plot. There are two versions included, one for begging plot (BME/Events ) and one for advanced plot (Plot Diagram). Students will color code the events in the story to show their analyzation.
Lesson 3: Students will be given a short text and events written on flow chart pieces. They will evaluate the pieces and determine their placements in the flow chart or plot diagram. Both a whole group and small group lesson are included!
Lesson 4: Students get to start writing out the events from the text in this lesson to help prepare them to be on their own! Students will read a short text and be given 5 pieces, two of which have events already on them. Students must determine where those events go and what the other three pieces should say based on the plot of the story. Two versions of the plot mats are given (BME/Plot diagram)
Lesson 5: In the final apply lesson, students will create a Plot Flip Book. Students will read a short text and then write out each of the events to reconstruct the plot. Two versions of the flip book are included.
All activity are more hands on than normal ‘worksheets’. Direction pages and real photographs are also included! A graphic organizer, bookmark, anchor chart, craftivity, & center are all also included!
